About Chandraghona Network
"Chandraghona-network”support activity that it is necessary to promote community medicine activity in Bangladesh Southeast Chandraghona of Dr. and Mrs. Shinichi Miyagawa and Michiyo and the public information, donation activity.
Two people are dispatch of JOCS (Japan Overseas Christian Medical Cooperative Service), but, as for the main organization, it is administered it laterally as "a association to support" by a fee and a donation.
We can enroll in thought religion and nationality without relations if we have you understand a purpose of activity of a main meeting. We send bulletins to inform of local activity at any time and perform report society as learning party. I establish e-mail magazine (ML) "Chandra-net" for information sharing of a member.
Starting for the new post carries out the medical service that took root in an area established in CHC (Christian Hospital Chandraghona) in Chittagon hill areas of the Bangladesh Southeast in 1907. As the hospital where there is an only emergency surgery in the area where many few mountaineers group lives in, I perform nursing education or a community medicine as well as a medical service. Even if Dr. Shinichi Miyagawa graduated from Faculty of Theology of Kansei Gakuin University, a doctor aiming at a dream of overseas medical cooperation. Meanwhile, there was an encounter with Michiyo of a companion. We support two people who achieved realization of the dream by an effort of the long time from discretion both sides.
A purpose of "Chandra-network" learns a work of
1) to support to Dr. and Ms. Miyagawa,
2) to deepen understanding to local people through the work by prayer, and
3) to range for international medical care cooperation through the support.
Administration of a meeting establishes the secretariat by self-rule of a volunteer and employs several officers and performs an expense to hang for administration by a fee / contribution of support society member.
We have you please understand a purpose of a meeting, a purpose and ask for support / cooperation of more people.
* JOCS is an NGO of a pioneer of international medical cooperation that dispatched Dr. IWAMURA Noboru to Nepal and Dr. NAKAMURA Tetsu to Peshawar. It is the knowing group which it "collects waste stamps", and do international collaboration support.
Profiles of Dr. and Ms. MIYAGAWA Schinichi and Michiyo
Dr. Shinichi MIYAGAWA
Born in Uwajima-city, Ehime Prefecture. Graduated from Uwajima East Senior High School, Faculty of Theology of Kansei Gakuin University, Osaka YMCA Preparatory School and University of Tokushima Medical Department. He worked for Fukuoka Tokusyu-kai Hospital.
He participated in "Asian summer school" (SIEA) in college student days and sympathize with the Asian present conditions and the support. It is started for its new post as a JOCS worker from September, 2005 to Bangladesh.
Ms. Michiyo MIYAGAWA
Born in Iida-city, Nagano Prefecture. She stayed in the U.K. since 13 years old.
She went back to Japan after Canada York University, British Sussex Graduate School graduation. She worked to a medical institution of Matsumoto-city. I married Dr. Shinichi Miyagawa and lived in Fukuoka with him. It is accompanied with starting for the new post to Bangladesh.
